Chef Jenny Dorsey's insider guide to the best eats and drinks in New York City
When everything in New York City is available 24/7, where does one go for a delicious meal? Well, my husband Matt and I have been tackling that question for the last 9 years. We believe we are food lovers that put food in the spotlight, separating taste from presentation, wow factor and hype. We don't spend time emphasizing industry jargon or chef resumes because but that's irrelevant. As industry professionals ourselves, we view dining holistically because truly understand what it's like. We especially do not use good food as a jostling competition to up our own egos. We argue there's not a lot of people out there who see food this way and therefore our honest recommendations merit consideration. Jenny Dorsey is a professional chef, writer and artist specializing in social impact driven culinary content & experiences. She runs Studio ATAO, a nonprofit culinary production studio, co-hosts Why Food? podcast and consults for various food-related brands and businesses. Her background is in fine dining, having cooked at Michelin-starred restaurants in both NYC and SF. Matt Dorsey is a Columbia MBA and finance executive by day, mixologist by night. He learned all his skills through home experimentation and has since won multiple cocktail competitions, including StarChefs Cocktail Competition 2015 and Edible's Cocktail Competition 2018. He is the beverage lead for Studio ATAO as well as the finance partner for the Museum of Food & Drink in NYC.
